We had an amazing value for the money we spent and our room was fantastic! The location was fine and the staff treated us like royalty. Kudos to Henny and Pierre for their very nice hospitality!
Hotel breakfast could be improved with fresher fruit salad options.

The location of the hotel was absolutely stunning, surrounded by beautiful countryside and with plenty of walking routes nearby. Additionally, the hotel itself was a sight to behold, with its historic architecture and well-preserved interiors. The staff at the hotel were also very friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout our stay.
One aspect that we found disappointing was the noise in our room. We were located near a busy area, and could hear people walking by and talking, which disrupted our sleep at times.

I would like to thank Amberley Castle for a magical stay. There is nothing I can fault with the castle, the grounds are kept emaculately, the rooms are of a very decent size and fitted out perfectly (recommend the Knepp Room). Considering the Classic Room is the same price of a 5 star hotel in London, I consider Amberley Castle of a higher standard. The staff are very friendly, professional and know the history of the grounds unlike other hotel castles in the country. The restaurant, although pricey, is great and is a must if you stay at the castle. We will definately return in the future.

1. No visible proprietor, host / hostess. A country house hotel without warmth and with a corporate feel 2. Small maintenance items being overlooked 3. Dinner menu is restricted - made choice at two consecutive dinners challenging 4. Did not believe it was essential to prefer a dinner booking to an hotel guest before outside reservations - remedied after strong words 5. Breakfast closes 10.00 am at weekends - too early and inconsiderate 6. Similar notes left at reception, to date no response

As young holiday goers, we absolutely loved staying at Amberley Castle. The castle itself is stunning, with impeccable grounds and a truly magnificent atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, always answering any questions and providing excellent service throughout. The welcome at reception was professional and friendly. The quality and presentation of the food at dinner exceeded our expectations, and the 18-hole putting course provided endless fun. The rooms were larger than expected and well set out, with comfortable beds and modern amenities. a high-end experience that is definitely worth the price.
We felt so taken care of during our stay at Amberley Castle, and have no complaints at all.

Staff were excellent and friendly. Setting and castle were beautiful.
Felt that dinner was over-priced and choice was a bit limited

We might be biased in our judgement by the fact that we were upgraded on arrival from a standard room to a well-restored historic one in the Manor House with a most beautiful view of the castle courtyard. That perhaps accounts for us deeming the hotel excellent value for money. However, our experience at Amberley was a pleasure from beginning to end and we would strongly recommend it for a relaxing break in superb in surroundings. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food is excellent and the medieval hall makes a delightful place to eat.
No internet access and minimal cellphone coverage (at least with Vodafone) but that all helps the sense of difference

Food for breakfast could have been better, but overall it was a great experience.

We loved just everything about this hotel. Its situation, excellent staff - I think the best staff of any hotel in England that we have visited. Level of comfort - excellent, and if anything could be done to improve this, it was unobtrusively done. Beautful bedroom, a superior room - magnificent dining room, excellent service and food. Wonderful grounds...pity about the rain!!
